Kenya Nyeri Hill AB Filter 200g
A historic washed coffee from Nyeri Hill Farm, set between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level just northwest of Nyeri town, with Mount Kenya to the northeast and the Aberdare ridges beyond. Coffee was first planted here in 1914, making it one of the earliest plantations in East Africa, and the 1934 wet mill is still in operation today.
Owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, the farm spans roughly 1,415 hectares with more than 374,000 coffee trees. High altitude, cool climate, and river valleys create ideal conditions for slow development and cup complexity, while income from coffee has supported local schools, seminaries, and a hospital over the past century.
Cherries are picked at peak ripeness, depulped, dry fermented, washed, graded, and dried on raised beds — a classic washed process that preserves the clean acidity and vibrant fruit Kenyan coffees are known for.
